Distant Worlds: Music from Final Fantasy CDRIP

Last week I attended my first orchestra. It was no ordinary orchestra. This was the Final Fantasy Distant Worlds orchestra! That's right! For 2 hours all they played were the biggest hits from the Final Fantasy series. I ended up picking up the album on my way out and I am amazed at the quality of the sounds. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I do! Just click on the song name to download.

Total Time: 74:32 min

01 Opening Bombing Mission - Final Fantasy VII [4:00]

02 Liberi Fatali - Final Fantasy VIII [3:13]

03 Aerith's Theme - Final Fantasy VII [5:46]

04 Fisherman's Horizon - Final Fantasy VIII [4:52]

05 Don't Be Afraid - Final Fantasy VIII [3:42]

06 Memoro de la Stono - Distant Worlds [8:38]

07 Medley 2002 - Final Fantasy I-III [8:02]

08 Theme of Love - Final Fantasy IV [5:20]

09 Vamo' alla Flamenco - Final Fantasy IX [4:12]

10 Love Grows - Final Fantasy VIII [5:07]

11 Opera (Maria and Draco) - Final Fantasy VI [12:13]

12 Swing de Chocobo - Final Fantasy [4:31]

13 One-Winged Angel - Final Fantasy VII [4:26]

I absolutely love each track on this album but if I really had to choose my favourite, I would pick Liberi Fatali. The sounds from this orchestra version are much more vibrant than the one they had in the game (or any other version I've heard). A close second would be One-Winged Angel for the same reason as above: the sounds are way more alive and real than any other version I've heard. So if you really liked Final Fantasy music, you will enjoy this album even more! You will truly appreciate the different instruments synchronzing with one another to produce these wonderful auditory masterpieces.

[Video] The 90

HHEHH, the one who made The Road to Moscow, has come up with another masterpiece called "The 90". This video was made for it to enter in the SC WCCC1 (Soccer Clips World Cup Compilation Competition 1) and it made it to the semi finals, where it lost by only one vote. That other video must be absolutely unreal because, frankly, I don't see how "The 90" can be beat. So here it is, easily one of the best compilations I've seen. Enjoy!

File Name: The 90

Producer: HHEHH

Description: The nature of football is cruel and unpredictable. Nothing is absolute, no lead is safe. So much can happen in 90 minutes and all it takes is a moment of inspiration to change the face of the game. Football, therefore, is not just a game anymore. It's a matter of life and death.

Celebrity Lookalikes: Takuya Kimura vs Jackie Lui

There are billions of people in this world so it's very common for two of them to look alike. Today I introduce you to Takuya Kimura (木村拓哉) and Jackie Lui (呂頌賢). I was watching a series which featured Kimura lately and thought that he resembled Jackie Lui. I was in absolute amazement after comparing pictures of both.

Above are pictures of Takuya Kimura.
Below are pictures of Jackie Lui.

So do you see the similarities? Which one looks better?

Swine Flu Outbreak

With more and more cases of the H1N1 influenza being identified, precautionary measures have been taken throughout the globe. As we are all aware - perhaps due to the media overblowing the whole matter - the Swine Flu originated in Mexico, where tourists picked up the virus and transported it to other places worldwide. In an extreme attempt to find a solution, a tourist was quarantined in China for simply holding a Mexican passport [source]. Discrimination what?

I didn't introduce the Swine Flu for no reason. So today was the first day of classes for the summer semester. Our prof was lecturing with a mild headache. He later denied that he had the flu but revealed that he had a runny nose a few days ago. Do you know where I'm going with this? But that's not all! He then told us that he just came back from a trip to Mexico! Wow. Just amazing. You'd think with all this attention we are getting with the Swine Flu that people who are even close to having flu-like symptioms should not go to work! Luckily for us, the flu season is just about coming to an end. This will buy us some time and allow research to be done in attempts to find a cure.

The Power of the Sony T90

Recently, the Sony T90 digital camera stood out to me, a lot. I was playing with it at Future Shop and I fell in love with its slick look and its 3" touch screen LCD monitor. It was only a matter of minutes before I decided that it was time to make the upgrade and say goodbye to my sister's Nikon Coolpix 2500. Reading the specs merely confirmed my purchase:

The Art of Sleep

Some people can sleep anytime, anywhere, while others have a set time. As a university student, I have developed many sleeping schedules. Depending on the work load, I have tried going days without sleeping, only to crash afterwards and go into a 20 hour coma. I have had times when I found a really addictive game to play where I start the game after dinner and the next time I look at the clock, it's already 5am. Then I sleep for only a couple hours before class starts. I have also tried the more socially accepted "8 hour" sleeping schedule, where I sleep around 11pm and wake up at 7am. There are many other ways we use to get our sleep in, but does it really matter how we sleep?

As a fulltime student, I can tell you the best feeling is waking up all on your own, without the assistance of your alarm clock or your roommate or your neighbour mowing the freaking lawn at 8am. Right now I'm enjoying the last week before the summer semester starts. It's funny how during the course of the school year, I have a really unstable sleeping schedule. But now that school is out, I have a set time for when I go to sleep. For the past week and a half, I've been going to bed around midnight and waking up at 7am or 8am. I've never been a morning person, but I must admit that this feels pretty good. It doesn't matter how we sleep, but as long as we get the sleep one way or another, we're good!
